Hunted Nirvana 2 by Kristy Feltenberger Gillespie Self published 26th February 2015 ISBN 978 1508652687 Source Author Rating 5 Synopsis Jade and her fraternal twin sister, Peaches, escaped the Nirvana commune weeks before their seventeenth birthday and the required eye color surgery Now they must assimilate to the Outside and all its foreign customs Just as the girls are settling in, they discover that life Outside, too, is riddled with danger They re not even sure they can trust the authorities Clearly the Outside isn t what they d hoped for Even after they ve found people they love and trust, the twins must decide remain on the Outside, or return to the secretive Nirvana commune If they do return to Nirvana, will they be able to convince their father that Nirvana s rules must be changed My Review I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Jade and the other characters in the first in the Nirvana series, and Hunted is a great second book We catch up with Jade and her twin sister Peaches The girls do a lot of growing up and I particularly like them showing such emotional maturity as they explore the Outside This is a real page turner that s intelligently written and full of complex characters The unusual premise is fascinating and I love all the sub plots that add so much depth There are happy times and harsh realities as the sisters come up against puzzling new experiences that are taken for granted on the Outside I like that the girls take it in turns to narrate the chapters it is great to get to know then a little better and to see things from their perspective as they get tho know each other and explore different places.A worthy follow up to book one I m really looking forward to reading book three, Blinded Thanks to author Kristy Feltenberger Gillespie for providing me with a digital copy of Hunted in exchange for my honest review

Hunted was a good follow up to Jaded Here, we find twin sisters Jade and Peaches living on the Outside now that they ve escaped Nirvana They quickly learn that the Outside is not all it s cracked up to be and both girls get a dose of reality Towards the last part of the book, Jade and Peaches get volunteered by their dad, Rust, to go visit another cult community so they can study them and bring feedback to Nirvana about how they can improve Jade has been contemplating returning to Nirvana for good and is constantly going over the pros and cons in her head, while Peaches wants to stay on the outside Once both girls return to Nirvana, Carmine and Sapphron get tried for Ruby s death and justice is served.I feel like this book shifted from a thriller in Jaded to a coming of age in Hunted While I don t mind that the focus shifted, I just enjoyed the thriller parts much better because they held my attention There are still a lot of questions that need to be answered, such as why does Nirvana exist Why do they do eye surgeries What is Jade s part in all this A lot is still a mystery.

Hunted is the sequel to Jaded where Jade and Peaches escaped from a commune which required eye surgery to change the colour of their eyes on their 17th birthday Now that they have made it to the Outside, they finally meet their grandparents Rue and Goldie who try to help them assimilate. The Outside is not as safe and simple as they had thought There are people, noise and it all happens 24 7 They don t even know who they can trust other than their family.I liked how the chapters alternated in the telling by Peaches and Jade It gave us the opportunity to get to know each of them a little better The two of them became inseparable, which was nice since they grew up not even knowing they were sisters, let alone twins.I found their reactions to some of the things that they had never been exposed to and had a good chuckle when they encountered them for the first time We are so used to the things in our culture that we take them for granted Others who live a much simpler life find these things amazing.I enjoyed seeing the girls mature through the story enough to make adult decisions about what they were going to do regarding whether to return to Nirvana or remain on the Outside I m hoping their decisions will help Nirvana change for the better.Hunted was fast paced with lots of twists and turns to keep the reader guessing It was an intriguing novel that made me realize I definitely do not want to get caught up in any kind of cult or commune I very much enjoyed reading this book I gave it 4 stars out of 5.Thank you to the author who provided a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review A positive opinion was not required All thoughts are my own.To see my complete review, visit Shelf Full of Books at

In Hunted, the story and setting of Jaded, the first book, widens Jade, the main protagonist of Jaded, a strong, smart, and curious teenager, escapes to the Outside to meet her grandparents Peaches, her newly founded sister, goes with her But the Outside is not as Jade thought There is freedom than in Nirvana, Jade s community, and of course, people aren t punished by being blinded, but it is a dangerous place where bad people exist just like in Nirvana.Jade and Peaches must face violence, kidnapping, and blackmail Those experiences make them enter the adult world, and make important decisions about their future and the future of their community The book alternates the point of view of the two girls Jade is the mature and reflexive sister, while Peaches is the optimist and extroverted But I love the fact that they are inseparable, they love and support each other, even if they are so different I recommend the book to readers who love fast paced adventure, twists and turns, but also who love a deep and honest analysis of family relationships, ethical models of society, and coming of age problems.

The book brings us to Main, where Jade and Peaches finally meet their grandparents Life on the Outside is exciting, sometimes puzzling and even dangerous It is again a story of not losing oneself, finding out who to trust, and to survive. With Hunted, Kristy Feltenberger Gillespie has created a compelling story of enduring in the world Outside after being used to living within a strictly ruled community, solving mysterious incidents and important decisions Hunted as its predecessor Jaded is an entertaining, gripping, and fast read, making you want to read I was drawn into the story right away I felt close to Jade and everything that happened All relevant characters became so real that I related to them Hunted is the worthy second book of the Nirvana trilogy This is a book and or series for you if you love young adult stories of the not too dark kind, comprising hope and thoughtfulness. This is a book and or series to read again.4.4 stars

A Fascinating Dystopian Novel Hunted is book 2 of this dystopian novel about twin girls, Peaches and Jade, who live in a commune, Nirvana In this book they have escaped because of the injustice of their severely structured society to find peace and freedom on the outside Events come into play that force them to come back to Nirvana to try to right a wrong and punish a member, Saffron who is the twins stepmother, for two deaths of family members There are many things happening at the same time but I don t want to give the story away.If you haven t read book 1, Jaded, pick it up so you can get the complete picture It is a book you will read turning pages quickly to find out what happens next This was an enjoyable read

Hunted is the second instalment in the Nirvana series, and follows the exploits of Jade and her newly discovered twin sister Peaches as they explore the world outside the commune they grew up in I had already read and enjoyed the first book in this series, so when I was asked to read and review this book, I jumped at the chance The book didn t disappoint While it focused on the pair getting justice for all the bad things that happened in the first story, it still held pace, partly aided by the alternating view point, and partly by the fact that it is written in the present tense If you enjoy a good YA novel, then check out this series It is very well written, and keeps you reading What are you waiting for Read it

Hunted is the sequel to Jaded Jade and Peaches are finally on the Outside and living with their grandparents Just as they are settling in they find out that the Outside is not as safe as they thought It is a whole new world they have never experienced before Then they find themselves in danger Who is after them and why This book shows the developing relationship between Jade and Peaches as sisters And how they are trying to find the answers that will work for them Do they live on the Outside or do they return to Nirvana After visiting The Site another commune their father had visited before they find out that maybe Nirvana isn t so bad after all But is it better than the Outside A fun and engaging series to read I was given this book by the author to review.

Wow I was blown away yet again by this great book Having been lucky enough to have read the first book, I was really excited about this one and I was not disappointed. Our protagonist, Jade, escapes Nirvana with her twin sister and they attempt to live normally in the Outside However, things don t go as planned and their situation becomes dangerous The big question they face is do they stay or risk going back to Nirvana and changing the rules This well crafted book will certainly appeal to the YA market It is a real page turner and I m sure that many of the issues the sisters face will be relevant This is the sort of book many parents will be happy for their teens to read I am happy to recommend it.
